'Tartarin of Tarascon' Summary
Tartarin of Tarascon is the story of a local hero from a small town in southern France. Tartarin is a braggart and a coward, but he is also a dreamer. He dreams of adventure and glory, and he longs to be a hero. When his fellow townspeople challenge him to go on a lion hunt in Algeria, Tartarin decides to take up the challenge. He travels to Algeria and sets out into the desert, hoping to find a lion to kill. However, Tartarin is not as brave as he thinks he is, and he soon finds himself in over his head. However, Tartarin knows that he is not a hero, but he has learned something about himself and the importance of being true to yourself.Book Details
