World As Will and Idea, Vol. 1 of 3
'World As Will and Idea, Vol. 1 of 3' Summary
Schopenhauer's philosophy is based on the idea that the world is driven by a blind, irrational Will. This Will is not a personal or conscious entity, but rather an impersonal force that drives all things. According to Schopenhauer, the Will is the source of all suffering in the world, as it constantly strives to satisfy its desires, only to be met with disappointment. However, Schopenhauer also believed that it is possible to transcend the Will and achieve a state of peace and happiness. This can be done through the practice of art, love, and compassion.Book Details
