Captain Jim
'Captain Jim' Summary
Captain Jim is a moving and heartwarming story about the sacrifices made by families and communities during World War I. Set in the beautiful countryside of Surrey, England, the novel follows the lives of Norah Linton, her brother Jim, her father David, and Jim's friend Wally from Australia. When Jim and Wally enlist to fight in the war, Norah and her father are left to take care of Homewood, a large house that has been turned into a home for "Tired People"--soldiers recovering from injuries or on leave with no family to go home to.Book Details
