Cinder Pond

Cinder Pond

by Carroll Watson Rankin

Cinder Pond is a heartwarming and inspiring story about a young girl named Jean who overcomes adversity to find her place in the world. After her father's death, Jean is left to fend for herself on the docks of a small town in Michigan. She befriends a group of orphans who live in shacks on the dock, and together they face the challenges of poverty and neglect. Despite the hardships they face, Jean and her friends never lose their hope and optimism. They find joy in the simple things in life, and they support each other through thick and thin. As Jean grows older, she begins to dream of a better life for herself and her friends. She works hard to improve her education, and she eventually finds a way to escape the poverty of the Cinder Pond. Jean's story is a reminder that anything is possible if you have the courage to follow your dreams.
