Tom, a young chimney sweep, is overworked and mistreated by his cruel master, Grimes. One day, Tom falls down a chimney and into a river, where he is rescued by a water baby named Ellie. Ellie takes Tom to the underwater world of the Water-Babies, where he learns about the importance of kindness, compassion, and responsibility. Tom's adventures in the underwater world help him to grow and mature, and he eventually returns to the human world a changed boy.Book Details
