'Dan'l Druce, Blacksmith' Summary
In the aftermath of the Battle of Worcester, a group of Royalist soldiers take refuge in the hut of Dan'l Druce, a blacksmith on the Norfolk coast. Dan'l is a kind and generous man, and he offers the soldiers food and shelter. However, one of the soldiers, Geoffrey Wynyard, is a traitor. He betrays the Royalists to the Parliamentary Army, and they are all arrested. Fourteen years later, Dan'l is still haunted by the betrayal of his friend. He has become a successful blacksmith, but he is still a lonely and bitter man. One day, he is visited by a mysterious stranger who claims to be the son of one of the Royalist soldiers who was betrayed by Wynyard. The stranger tells Dan'l that Wynyard is still alive and that he is planning to return to England. Dan'l vows to track down Wynyard and get revenge on him for what he did.Book Details
