The Count of Monte Cristo is a classic novel of adventure, romance, and revenge. Edmond Dantès, a young sailor with a bright future, is falsely accused of treason and imprisoned for 14 years in the Chateau d'If. During his captivity, he befriends a fellow prisoner, Abbé Faria, who teaches him valuable skills and reveals the location of a hidden treasure. Upon escaping prison and acquiring the wealth, Dantès, now known as the Count of Monte Cristo, sets out to exact revenge on those who wronged him.
