'Gadfly' Summary
Arthur Burton, a young Englishman raised in Italy, is deeply affected by the oppression of the Austrian regime. However, their love is challenged by the weight of Arthur's radical convictions and the ever-present threat of the Austrian forces. The novel chronicles Arthur's transformative journey, his unwavering commitment to the cause, and his struggles with the moral dilemmas that arise from his actions.
