'Jungle Girl' Summary
Mr. Wargrave, a British officer, is transferred to a remote border outpost, Ranga Duar, in British India, where he meets Violet, a woman known as the 'Jungle Girl,' who lives a life intertwined with the surrounding jungle. He also encounters the political officer's wife, Mrs. Norton, who becomes a confidante. The story unfolds as Wargrave becomes involved in the daily challenges of protecting the outpost and the surrounding forests, facing the dangers and intrigue of the jungle and the complexities of colonial life. He finds himself drawn to Miss Benson, their connection intensifying as they navigate the challenges of their environment and the emerging political climate of the time.
