Lady of the North Star is a classic mystery novel that will keep you guessing until the very end. Set in the snow-bound Northwest, the novel tells the story of a beautiful young lady who is found dead. Three men are after her heart, but who killed her? Detective Grant must investigate and uncover the truth. As he does, he discovers a tangled web of intrigue, passion, and betrayal. The beautiful young lady is Stella North, the daughter of one of the richest men in the Northwest. She is engaged to be married to the wealthy and powerful John Hammond. However, she is secretly in love with Andy McPherson, a poor trapper. Stella's father disapproves of their relationship and forbid them ever seeing each other. Andy and Stella continue seeing each other, but their relationship is discovered and Stella's father threatens to disown her if she does not marry Hammond. Stella is torn between her love for Andy and her duty to her father. She eventually agrees to marry Hammond, but she is unhappy. She knows that she can never truly love him and she pines for Andy. Then one day Stella is found dead in the snow. She has been murdered. Who killed her? Detective Grant must find out. He investigates and discovers a web of intrigue and forbidden relationships. It seems that everyone had a motive to kill Stella. Her father wanted her to marry Hammond, Hammond wanted her money, and Andy wanted her love. Grant must sort through the lies and deception to find the truth. He must discover who killed Stella and bring her murderer to justice.
