Last Buccaneer
'Last Buccaneer' Summary
The poem begins with the buccaneer reminiscing about his past. He remembers his days as a young man, when he sailed the seas with a crew of mutineers. The crew was led by a cruel and ruthless captain, and the buccaneer was forced to do terrible things in the captain's name. One day, the crew mutinied against the captain and killed him. The buccaneer was the only survivor of the mutiny, and he was left alone to face the consequences of his actions. The buccaneer is haunted by the memory of the captain, and he knows that he will never be able to escape his past. He sails the seas alone, a solitary figure, until he is finally killed by a group of pirates. The poem ends with the buccaneer's ghost still sailing the seas, a warning to all who would follow in his footsteps.Book Details
