Malcolm
'Malcolm' Summary
Malcolm MacPhail, a young man in his early twenties, has lived his entire life in a small fishing village on the rugged coast of Scotland. He has never met his parents and harbors no particular curiosity about their absence. However, others in the village have their own theories about his origins, whispers about a past he's unaware of. The arrival of the marquis and his daughter, Lady Elspet, at their long-abandoned estate near the village throws Malcolm's world into upheaval. The marquis, a man of aristocratic lineage, seems drawn to Malcolm, while Elspet, intelligent and compassionate, finds herself intrigued by the quiet young man. As Malcolm becomes entangled in the lives of the marquis and his daughter, he gradually uncovers the truth about his parents and his connection to the grand estate. Through his journey of discovery, Malcolm confronts his own identity, grappling with the consequences of his heritage and the societal barriers that separate him from Elspet. The story explores the themes of love, duty, social class, and the search for belonging in a world where one's past can shape one's future.Book Details
