'Mäzli: A Story of the Swiss Valleys' Summary
Mäzli, the youngest of five orphaned children living in a small Swiss village, finds herself drawn to the grand castle overlooking her valley. She befriends the kind-hearted castle steward, Melchior, who helps her navigate the world of the wealthy baron who resides there. The baron, however, is a lonely and bitter man, grieving for his lost family. He is estranged from his niece and nephew who believe he has abandoned them. Mäzli, with her innocent charm and unwavering kindness, brings a ray of sunshine into the baron's life. Through her interactions with him, she begins to heal his wounds and softens his heart.
