'Members of the Family' Summary
The stories in Members of the Family are all connected by the theme of family. In "The Virginian," the title character is a young cowboy who is trying to find his place in the world. In "The Second Virginian," the Virginian has become a respected member of the community, but he is still haunted by his past. "The Jimmyjohn Boss" tells the story of a rancher who is trying to hold on to his land, but he is facing challenges from both the government and his neighbors. "The Gift Horse" is a story about a young woman who is trying to find her own identity, and "The Buckboard" is a story about a family who is trying to survive a harsh winter. The stories in Members of the Family are all well-written and engaging, and they offer a fascinating glimpse into the lives of people living on the frontier.Book Details
