'Ὁμήρου Ὀδύσσεια (Ραψῳδία 10) - The Odyssey (Book 10)' Summary
The tenth book of the Odyssey tells the tale of Odysseus' encounter with Aeolus, who offers him a bag of favorable winds to aid his journey. However, Odysseus' crew, driven by curiosity, open the bag, unleashing stormy winds that blow them off course. They land on the island of the Laistrygonians, a race of giant cannibals who devour Odysseus' men. He escapes this peril and lands on the island of Aeaea, ruled by the enchantress Circe, who transforms Odysseus' men into swine. Through the intervention of Hermes, Odysseus is given a magical herb that allows him to resist Circe's spells. He eventually frees his men and leaves Aeaea, embarking on the next leg of his perilous journey home.Book Details
