My Lot

by Joseph Horatio Chant

In a world where death is not the end, one man must find his way home. My Lot is a poem about a man who has died and been transported to a strange and beautiful world. He is surrounded by the dead, but they are not the same dead that he knew on Earth. These dead are still alive, with their thoughts and feelings intact. They are simply waiting for their time to be reborn. The man must find his way home, but he does not know how. He must navigate this strange new world, and he must learn to live among the dead. He must also face the temptation to stay in this world, where he can be with his loved ones who have passed away. My Lot is a poem about death, but it is also a poem about hope. It is a reminder that death is not the end, and that there is always a chance to be reborn. It is a poem about finding your way home, even when you are lost.
