'Nibelungenlied' Summary
Das Nibelungenlied erzählt die Geschichte von Siegfried, einem Drachentöter, der sich in Kriemhild, eine burgundische Prinzessin, verliebt. Die beiden heiraten, aber Siegfrieds Glück ist nur von kurzer Dauer. König Gunther von Burgund möchte Brunhild, die isländische Königin, heiraten, doch sie ist zu stark für ihn. Siegfried hilft Gunther, Brunhild zu besiegen, indem er eine magische Tarnkappe verwendet, die ihn unsichtbar macht. Später werden Siegfrieds Taten von Hagen, einem Burgunder, verraten, und Siegfried wird ermordet. Kriemhild, untröstlich über Siegfrieds Tod, heiratet den hunnischen König Etzel und plant Rache. Sie lockt die Burgunder in ihre neue Heimat und lässt sie im Blutbad von Etzel's Hof töten. Hagen wird getötet und Kriemhilds Rache ist vollzogen, aber sie selbst stirbt durch den Schwerthieb eines Burgunders. Das Nibelungenlied ist ein Meisterwerk der mittelalterlichen Literatur, das mit seinen tragischen Figuren, dramatischen Ereignissen und fesselnden Erzählungen die Leser bis heute in seinen Bann zieht.Book Details
