'Spoilers' Summary
The novel opens with the return of Dextry and Roy Glenister to Nome, Alaska, intent on reclaiming their gold mine, The Midas, which has been wrongfully seized by the corrupt Judge Stillman, who operates through his enforcer, Alec McNamara. The arrival of the Glenisters coincides with the emergence of a ruthless lawyer, Struve, who is determined to control the mining operations in Nome. As the Glenisters attempt to navigate the tangled legal system, they face a web of deceit and violence orchestrated by McNamara and Struve. Helen Chester, the Judge's naïve niece, becomes entangled in the conflict, her innocence and loyalty challenged by the realities of the lawless frontier. The Glenisters, along with a group of wronged miners, ultimately resort to forming a vigilante group known as The Stranglers to confront the corruption and reclaim their stolen gold. *The Spoilers* explores the themes of justice, corruption, and the clash between law and order in a frontier setting, culminating in a dramatic showdown that tests the characters' loyalty and courage.Book Details
