'Storia di una capinera' Summary
Maria, una giovane donna di diciannove anni, è cresciuta in un convento a Catania. Costretta a diventare suora per motivi di povertà, la sua vita cambia quando un'epidemia di colera le permette di tornare a casa con la sua famiglia. A Monte Ilice, Maria inizia una corrispondenza con la sua amica Marianna, raccontandole le sue esperienze e i suoi pensieri. La famiglia di Maria è composta dal padre, la matrigna, la sorellastra Giuditta e il fratellastro Gigi. Maria si rende conto che il suo amore per Gigi, il suo fratellastro, è ricambiato, ma le loro relazioni sono complicate dalla differenza di classe sociale e dalle aspettative della società. Maria si sente intrappolata tra il suo desiderio di amore e la necessità di obbedire alle regole del convento. Mentre Maria si addentra sempre più in un amore proibito, il suo destino è incerto.
