'Limbo' Summary
The title story, "Limbo", is about a young man who is stuck in a dead-end job and a loveless relationship. He dreams of escaping to a better life, but he is too afraid to take any risks. "The Gioconda Smile" is about a man who is obsessed with a painting of the Mona Lisa. He believes that the painting holds the secret to happiness, but he is ultimately disappointed when he finally sees it in person. "The Tillotson Banquet" is about a group of people who are trapped in a snowstorm. They tell each other stories to pass the time, but their stories are full of sadness and regret. "After the Fireworks" is about a man who is struggling to come to terms with the death of his wife. He goes on a journey to find meaning in his life, but he is ultimately unsuccessful. "The Claxtons" is about a family that is falling apart. The parents are unhappy in their marriage, and the children are rebelling against their authority. "The Host" is about a man who invites a group of people to his house for dinner. He is a lonely man who is desperate for companionship, but his guests are all too self-absorbed to care about him.Book Details
