'Traumnovelle' Summary
Der Arzt Fridolin und seine Frau Albertine scheinen ein glückliches Eheleben zu führen. Doch unter der Oberfläche brodeln unausgesprochene und ungestillte sexuelle Fantasien. Als sie einander eines Abends ihre Fantasien anvertrauen, gerät die harmonische Fassade ins Wanken. Beide fühlen sich verletzt und betrogen. Bevor es zu einer Aussprache kommt, wird Fridolin zu einem Patienten gerufen und erlebt eine Reihe von erotischen Abenteuern, die seine unterdrückten sexuellen Wünsche widerspiegeln. In einer einzigen Nacht und einem Tag wird Wien zum Spiegelbild seines Unterbewusstseins. Parallel dazu erfährt Albertine in einem Traum die Welt ihres eigenen Unbewussten. Beide Figuren werden gezwungen, sich selbst und einander ihre Fantasien einzugestehen, was zu einer neuen, wenn auch möglicherweise instabilen, Grundlage für ihre Beziehung führt.Book Details
