Insolación narra la historia de Asís Taboada, una marquesa viuda que se encuentra en Madrid disfrutando de un período de vacaciones. Durante las festividades de San Isidro, Asís conoce a Diego Pacheco, un joven andaluz que cautiva su atención. Entre ellos surge una atracción que se intensifica a medida que las fiestas avanzan. Asís se encuentra cautivada por Diego y el deseo que siente por él, pero también por las presiones sociales que la rodean y la moralidad de la época.
