'Señor de Bembibre' Summary
El Señor de Bembibre cuenta la historia de Don Álvaro, un joven noble que está profundamente enamorado de Doña Beatriz, la hija del señor de Arganza. Sin embargo, Don Alonso, padre de Beatriz, ha decidido casar a su hija con el Conde de Lemus, un matrimonio que Beatriz rechaza rotundamente. Para evitar este destino, Doña Beatriz promete a Don Álvaro que ingresará en un convento. Don Álvaro, desesperado, busca ayuda de su tío, un caballero templario, quien le aconseja hablar con el abad de Carracedo, confesor de los señores de Arganza. El abad se muestra dispuesto a ayudar a Don Álvaro, pero solo si se aleja de la orden de los templarios, que están siendo perseguidos por herejía. La novela se desarrolla en un ambiente de intrigas políticas, crisis religiosa y las ruinas de una civilización perdida. Don Álvaro se enfrenta a un dilema: su amor por Beatriz, su lealtad a su familia y el destino de los templarios. En medio de este drama, el abad lleva a Don Álvaro a las ruinas de la ciudad romana de Berdigum y le dice que pregunte a las ruinas por la grandeza de sus señores.
