Two Wives

The Two Wives is a narrative poem by Thomas Hardy that tells the story of a man who is torn between his love for his two wives. The first wife, Louisa, is a beautiful and gentle woman who dies young. The second wife, Margery, is a strong and independent woman who helps the man to overcome his grief. However, the man is never able to fully forget Louisa, and he is haunted by her memory throughout his life.
