Wanja Kusmin, a simple man from a poor village, seeks a better life in the city after his father's death. He encounters Jeremé Salakin, a cunning and lazy individual who relies on petty crime for survival. Together, they plan a major heist, believing it will lift them from their poverty. However, Wanja's naiveté and Jeremé's selfish motivations lead to a devastating crime. The consequences of their actions unfold quickly, forcing Wanja to confront the weight of his choices and the harsh realities of his situation.
