Victory
'Victory' Summary
Axel Heyst, a wealthy and disillusioned man, seeks solace from the world on a remote tropical island. His isolation is broken when he rescues Lena, a young woman fleeing from the clutches of the villainous Schomberg. As Axel and Lena fall in love, they must face the challenges posed by Schomberg's relentless pursuit and the complexities of their own pasts. Heyst's belief in the power of detachment and self-reliance is tested as he grapples with the demands of love, duty, and the consequences of his actions. Ultimately, the novel explores the themes of isolation, responsibility, and the illusions we create for ourselves.Book Details
