Walpurgisnacht
'Walpurgisnacht' Summary
Robert, a businessman in Prague, is drawn to a man in a coffeehouse whose features are eerily reminiscent of the Devil. Shortly after, he loses his wallet and discovers the thief is none other than the devilish figure. Returning home, Robert is unexpectedly visited by the Devil on Walpurgisnacht, a night when witches and demons are said to roam free. As the night progresses, Robert becomes embroiled in a series of inexplicable occurrences that intertwine with the supernatural. Zschokke's "Walpurgisnacht" blends Gothic elements with a compelling narrative, creating a chilling tale of fate, magic, and the consequences of encountering the forces of darkness.Book Details
