'Willem Roda' Summary
Willem Roda is the son of a wealthy banker in Amsterdam. When his father suddenly loses all his money, Willem's life changes drastically. He is sent to a boys' reformatory, where he learns to survive on his own. After escaping from the reformatory, Willem travels to the Veluwe, where he lives in a hut and learns about nature. He then travels to the Mergelgrotten bij Maastricht, where he learns about geology. Finally, Willem travels to the interior of Australia, where he learns about the aboriginal people.Book Details
