'Ali Baba en de veertig roovers' Summary
Ali Baba is a poor woodcutter who lives in a small village. One day, while working in the forest, he overhears a group of forty thieves talking about a secret cave filled with treasure. Ali Baba follows the thieves to the cave and discovers the entrance, which is hidden behind a large rock. Ali Baba says the magic words, "Open Sesame," and the door to the cave opens. Inside, he finds a vast treasure of gold, silver, and jewels. Ali Baba takes a small portion of the treasure and returns home to his family. The thieves soon discover that their treasure has been stolen and they set out to find the thief. They track Ali Baba back to his village and demand that he return the treasure. Ali Baba refuses, and the thieves vow to take revenge. Ali Baba's brother, Qasim, overhears the thieves' plot and warns Ali Baba. Ali Baba and Qasim devise a plan to outsmart the thieves. They fill forty large jars with oil and hide inside them. When the thieves return to Ali Baba's house, they find the jars and think they are filled with treasure. They load the jars onto their donkeys and take them back to their cave. The thieves open the jars and are doused in oil. Ali Baba and Qasim then set the oil on fire, killing the thieves. Ali Baba and his family are now safe from the thieves, and they live happily ever after with the treasure they found in the cave.Book Details
