The story begins with Conan, a renowned barbarian warrior, being hired by a civilized nation to aid in their conquest of the Picts, a savage tribe inhabiting the lands beyond the Black River. The Picts, threatened by the invasion, turn to their ancient magic, summoning mythical beasts and creatures of unimaginable power to defend their territory.
