'Chronicles of crime and criminals No.1' Summary
The book begins with a detailed account of the murder of Harriet Lane by her lover, Henry Wainwright. Wainwright was a wealthy businessman who had been having an affair with Lane for several years. In 1888, he murdered her in a fit of rage and then dismembered her body and disposed of it in the Thames River. The second part of the book focuses on the Whitechapel murders, which occurred in the East End of London between 1888 and 1891. The killer, who was never identified, targeted prostitutes and mutilated their bodies in a gruesome manner. The Whitechapel murders caused widespread panic and fear in London, and the police were unable to catch the killer. The book provides a detailed account of both murder cases, including the investigations, the trials, and the public reactions. It also includes illustrations and maps of the crime scenes, and it provides a valuable historical record of these two infamous crimes.Book Details
