'Chronicles of crime and criminals No.1' Summary
The book begins with a detailed account of the murder of Harriet Lane by her lover, Henry Wainwright. Wainwright was a wealthy businessman who had been having an affair with Lane for several years. In 1888, he murdered her in a fit of rage and then dismembered her body and disposed of it in the Thames River. The second part of the book focuses on the Whitechapel murders, which occurred in the East End of London between 1888 and 1891. The killer, who was never identified, targeted prostitutes and mutilated their bodies in a gruesome manner.
