Cunning Workmen

by Pansy (Isabella Macdonald Alden)

Cunning Workmen follows the story of Miss Cora Parkhurst, a young woman whose carefree lifestyle clashes with her duties as a Sunday school teacher. Her lack of commitment to her faith is highlighted by the dedication of Mr. Robert Hammond, another Sunday school teacher. As Cora struggles with her spiritual journey, her relationship with her fiancé, George Tracy, is put to the test. George, who is ambivalent towards religion, finds himself at odds with Hammond's influence on Cora. The novel explores themes of faith, commitment, and the transformative power of love and encouragement, as Cora navigates her personal and spiritual growth.
