Helena
'Helena' Summary
**Helena** Helena is a young woman who is engaged to be married to a wealthy man. She is beautiful and kind, but she is also very extravagant. She spends money on clothes, jewelry, and other luxuries, and she doesn't think twice about it. Helena's fiancé is a kind and patient man, but he is also very frugal. He doesn't understand why Helena needs to spend so much money, and he worries that she will never be able to manage their finances if they get married. One day, Helena's fiancé decides to test her. He gives her a large sum of money and tells her to spend it wisely. Helena is delighted, and she immediately goes out and buys all sorts of things that she doesn't need. When Helena's fiancé finds out what she has done, he is furious. He breaks off their engagement and tells her that she is too irresponsible to be his wife. Helena is heartbroken, but she eventually realizes that her fiancé was right. She learns to be more frugal, and she eventually finds a husband who is more understanding of her need to spend money.Book Details
