'Mädchen vom Moorhof' Summary
Helga, a young woman from humble beginnings, becomes pregnant by her employer, a married farmer. She is cast out by her community and struggles to find work. When Gudmund, the son of a wealthy neighbor, offers her a job, she is initially hesitant, knowing that his fiancée will not approve. However, she eventually accepts, hoping to build a new life for herself and her child. However, Hildur's disapproval soon forces Helga to leave. Just when Helga's hopes seem dashed, Gudmund is accused of murder. Helga must now decide whether to protect the man who has helped her or to seek revenge for the wrongs that have been done to her.Book Details
