'Man That Corrupted Hadleyburg' Summary
Hadleyburg, a town renowned for its unwavering honesty, becomes the target of a stranger's revenge after he is wronged by its citizens. The stranger, posing as a wealthy philanthropist, offers a substantial sum of money to the town, but with a catch: it must be kept a secret. When the townspeople succumb to greed and break their vow of silence, the stranger returns to expose their hypocrisy and shatter their illusion of incorruptibility. In the aftermath, Hadleyburg is left grappling with the consequences of its betrayal and the realization that even the most virtuous of societies can be corrupted by temptation.Book Details
