Monster Men

Monster Men

by Edgar Rice Burroughs

Dr. Arthur Maxon, a brilliant but ethically questionable scientist, dedicates his life to creating artificial human beings. His twelve previous attempts result in grotesque, subhuman creatures. But his thirteenth creation, a perfect humanoid, becomes the object of his desire and he plans to make it the ideal mate for his daughter, Virginia. This monstrous plan is disrupted when pirates and Maxon's treacherous assistant, Carl von Horn, intervene. This sets the stage for a clash of ambition, morality, and the very definition of humanity, as Maxon grapples with the consequences of his scientific pursuit and the betrayal of his closest allies.
