'Ned Franks, or The Christian's Panoply' Summary
Ned Franks, a one-armed Christian sailor, returns to his sister's home after several years away at sea. By his upright, kind behavior and willingness to work, he soon begins supporting himself and becomes well-liked in the community, especially by the children.Ned helps his nephew, Billy, to overcome his fear of the dark by teaching him about the power of God. He also helps a servant girl, Mary, to break her habit of dishonesty by showing her the importance of honesty and integrity. The design of this story is unique, as each chapter demonstrates a new fruit of the Spirit as described in Galatians 5:22-23.
