'Rouge et le noir' Summary
Julien Sorel, un jeune homme ambitieux et intelligent né dans une famille modeste, aspire à une vie meilleure. Il obtient un poste de précepteur chez les de Rênal, une famille aisée, et se retrouve attiré par la femme du maître de maison, Madame de Rênal. Mais ses ambitions le poussent également vers Mathilde de la Mole, une jeune femme noble et influente, qu'il tente de séduire pour accéder à un statut social plus élevé. Entre ses deux amours et ses aspirations, Julien navigue dans un monde de conventions sociales, de préjugés et de contradictions, notamment religieuses et politiques. Il utilise son intelligence, son charme et sa volonté de fer pour manipuler les personnes autour de lui, mais son ambition dévorante et son incapacité à se contrôler le conduisent à des actes irréfléchis et tragiques. Le roman explore les conséquences de la quête de pouvoir et d'ascension sociale, les difficultés de la mobilité sociale et la complexité des relations humaines.
