Turmoil (Growth Trilogy Vol 1)
'Turmoil (Growth Trilogy Vol 1)' Summary
Set in a fictional Midwestern town during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, The Turmoil follows the intertwined lives of the Ambersons, an aristocratic family in decline, and the Morgans, a rising industrialist family. George Amberson Minafer, the aging patriarch of the Amberson family, represents the old guard, clinging to tradition and social hierarchy. His son Wilbur, on the other hand, is more open to change and progress, but his ambition and recklessness lead him to make poor decisions. Meanwhile, Eugene Morgan, the son of a self-made industrialist, embodies the new era of wealth and power. As the town undergoes rapid industrialization and social change, the Ambersons struggle to maintain their status and relevance, while the Morgans rise to prominence. The novel explores the clash between old and new values, the changing nature of social class, and the inevitable march of time.Book Details
