'Basil, or, Honesty and Industry' Summary
Basil is a poor orphan boy who lives in a small village. He is honest and hardworking, but he often goes hungry because he has no money. One day, Basil meets a rich man who offers him a job. Basil works hard and earns enough money to buy food for himself and his friends. The rich man is so impressed with Basil's honesty and hard work that he offers to adopt him. Basil is overjoyed and agrees. Basil lives happily with the rich man and his family, and he continues to be honest and hardworking. He learns the importance of virtue and morality, and he becomes a successful businessman.
