Christmas Carol in Prose; Being a Ghost Story of Christmas
'Christmas Carol in Prose; Being a Ghost Story of Christmas' Summary
Marley was dead, to begin with. Ebenezer Scrooge, his former business partner, is a miserly and selfish man who is visited by Marley's ghost on Christmas Eve. Marley warns Scrooge that he will be visited by three spirits that night, and that he must change his ways or face a dire fate. Scrooge is visited by the Ghost of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come. The Ghost of Christmas Past shows Scrooge his childhood and how he became the miserly man he is today. The Ghost of Christmas Present shows Scrooge the joy and happiness that Christmas brings to others, and the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come shows Scrooge the consequences of his actions if he does not change his ways. Scrooge is terrified by what he sees and vows to change his ways. He becomes a more generous and compassionate person, and he spends the rest of his life making amends for his past wrongdoings.Book Details
