Coming of the Law
'Coming of the Law' Summary
Hollis, a young man from the East, arrives in a small western town to take over his late father's ranch and newspaper. He quickly discovers the town is controlled by Dunlavey, a powerful cattleman who is a law unto himself. Dunlavey's corrupt influence extends to the sheriff, who is bribed to turn a blind eye to his illegal activities. The townspeople, victims of Dunlavey's tyranny, are powerless to fight back. Hollis, driven by his sense of justice and a desire to protect the innocent, becomes their unlikely champion. He sets out to expose Dunlavey's crimes and bring him to justice, even if it means defying the corrupt sheriff and facing the wrath of a powerful and dangerous man. The story follows Hollis's journey as he navigates the treacherous world of the lawless frontier, unraveling conspiracies, gathering evidence, and forming alliances with those who dare to stand against Dunlavey. As the tension mounts, Hollis faces threats and dangers at every turn, ultimately confronting Dunlavey in a climactic showdown that will determine the fate of the town and the rule of law in the county.Book Details
