'Padre Ignacio, Or The Song Of Temptation' Summary
Padre Ignacio has been the pastor of California mission Santa Ysabel del Mar for twenty years. In 1855 a stranger rides into the mission bringing news and a spiritual crisis. The stranger tells Padre Ignacio that his bishop has been killed and that the mission is in danger of being closed. Padre Ignacio is shaken by the news and begins to question his faith. He is tempted to give up his priesthood and return to his former life as a soldier. However, he eventually decides to stay and fight for his mission. The story explores themes of temptation, faith, and redemption.Book Details
