Red Window

by Fergus Hume

In the aftermath of a civil war, two former schoolmates, now military men, reunite. Dick West, having inherited his family's estate, finds himself out of favor with his grandfather. The Red Window, a symbol of warning during times of unrest, becomes a beacon of hope for West, as he awaits a message that his grandfather has forgiven him. However, the discovery of a handkerchief around the old man's neck complicates matters, hinting at a sinister event. As West delves deeper into the mystery, he uncovers a web of secrets, betrayals, and a murder that threatens to shatter his world.
