'Rupert of Hentzau' Summary
Rupert of Hentzau is a captivating sequel to The Prisoner of Zenda, set in the fictional kingdom of Ruritania. Five years have passed since Rudolf Rassendyll, a doppelganger for the King, saved the throne. Now, the King's suspicions of his wife, Queen Flavia, and her affection for Rudolf, combined with his own jealousy, create a tense atmosphere. Flavia, heartbroken by the King's mistrust, sends a single red rose and a letter of farewell to Rudolf. However, the scheming Count Rupert of Hentzau, banished from Ruritania after his previous attempt to usurp the throne, intercepts these tokens of love. He plots to use them against the King, hoping to sow discord and pave the way for his own return. Rudolf, along with his loyal companions Fritz and Sapt, must act swiftly to thwart Hentzau's evil intentions and protect the fragile peace of Ruritania.Book Details
