'Vie' Summary
Jeanne, the daughter of a wealthy landowner, grows up in the idyllic Norman countryside. As a young woman, she falls in love with Julien de Lamare, a charming but irresponsible aristocrat. They marry, and Jeanne soon becomes pregnant. However, their marriage is unhappy, and Julien eventually abandons Jeanne and their child. Heartbroken, Jeanne returns to her parents' home, where she finds solace in her relationship with her son. As she grows older, Jeanne comes to terms with the disappointments of her life. She finds strength in her relationships with her family and friends, and she learns to appreciate the simple pleasures of life. In her old age, Jeanne is a respected and beloved member of her community. She has lived a full and meaningful life, despite the trials and tribulations she has faced.Book Details
