Sir Isaac Skinflint, a wealthy but stingy old man, is determined to keep his fortune from falling into the wrong hands. He decides to leave his money to the person who can convince him they are most worthy. This sets off a hilarious chain of events as a variety of individuals—ranging from a charming young man to a greedy lawyer and a scheming fortune hunter—attempt to win Sir Isaac's favor.
