'Far From The Madding Crowd, version 2' Summary
The story begins with Gabriel Oak, a shepherd who is in love with Bathsheba Everdene, a beautiful and independent young woman. However, Bathsheba is not interested in Gabriel and instead becomes engaged to the wealthy Mr. Boldwood. Gabriel is heartbroken and leaves the village to work as a shepherd elsewhere. Bathsheba, meanwhile, begins to regret her engagement to Mr. Boldwood and realizes that she is in love with Sergeant Troy, a handsome and charming soldier. However, Sergeant Troy is not a good man and he eventually betrays Bathsheba, leading to her downfall. The novel ends with Gabriel and Bathsheba finally reconciled, but their happiness is bittersweet, as they both know that their lives have been forever changed by the events of the past.Book Details
