Late Mattia Pascal
'Late Mattia Pascal' Summary
Mattia Pascal, a young man stuck in a bleak marriage and a life devoid of fulfillment, escapes his dreary existence by faking his own death. With a new identity and funds he finds in Monte Carlo, he embarks on a period of freedom, but his solitude and alienation soon become unbearable. Years later, he decides to reclaim his old life, only to find himself a ghost in the script of his own story. The novel explores the fragility of identity, the illusion of control, and the unsettling reality of being a stranger in the very world you once knew. Pirandello uses wit, irony, and a touch of tragedy to expose the absurdity of human existence and the struggle to define one's place in a world that seems to constantly shift and change.Book Details
