'In Chancery' Summary
Captain Dionysius McCafferty, the former proprietor of the Railway Hotel, Steepleton Junction, has lost his memory. He is now being cared for by Dr. Titus, his eccentric medical attendant. One day, a young man named Montague Joliffe arrives at the hotel, claiming to be McCafferty's long-lost son. However, Joliffe is not who he seems. He is actually a criminal who is trying to swindle McCafferty out of his money. Meanwhile, McCafferty's wife, Patricia, is having an affair with Joliffe.
